New book

Over these past months I have worked on a book – non fiction, motivational kind. I have not finalised its title but essentially it is a guide to lead a happy and successful life addressed to the younger generation. I was inspired to write this book in order to leave a lasting legacy from my side for “gen next” My father was an academician, biographer and author from Kerala. I would like this book – eventually when it sees the light of the day – as a dedication to my dad’s memory. His own life encompassed simplicity, integrity, and selfless service – true Gandhian in every sense of the term.

I have typed out the contents of the entire book roughly 140 pages in A4 size in eight chapters in doc file (MS Word format). The final copy will be ready after I run through it once again to fine tune the language, style and substance. I also have to finalise the visuals – pictures / sketches.

The corona pandemic across the globe has brought human life to virtual stand still. There is hardly a family in the world not affected by it. It is predicted that a paradigm change can be expected in the way human life thrived on earth. Sociologists reckon changes in value systems, human psyche, social lifestyle & value propositions across the world. Less materialistic and more value based living could be the order of the day, we are told. It might involve, nay will be necessary, to recast a whole new generation of men & women on fresh foundations of human values. Organisations and institutions will find new (presumably ethical) ways of running business houses – hiring people, fixing organisational structure and managing CSR & financials. From that  perspective, my writings in the proposed book will be of great appeal & inspiration to the young generation. The publication itself therefore couldn’t have come at a more opportune moment …. So I feel. Pl await further details..

Success

What’s success It is such s subjective thing but most misunderstood. My dad is an example. He can never be termed successful by the contemporary yardsticks like wealth palatial villa, expensive car or yacht. But if you ask him he would say he was immensely succesful and happy. What makes his say that even though many of his classmates who graduated from prestigious St Joseph’s College Trichy with B Sc Hons in Physics landed plum jobs while he was only a college principal – that too getting 2nd Rank in Madras Presidency in 1944. We will find out …
